Goosing The Gossip: All Quiet On The Western Front

Today is one of those days where the newspapers do carry pieces dedicated to United transfer news but there is no advancement.
For example, the Daily Star say: “MANCHESTER UNITED are hoping to push through a £40m deal for Ivan Perisic within the next week.” Really, the ‘next week’ is just one of those perennial blanket terms, a rolling 7 day period which never seems to end. Which is fine. Inter Milan apparently want £48m, United appear keen to sit and wait to get the fee lower, knowing United, they’ll probably agree a £55m deal which makes us all wonder why there was a hold up.
The Star also report that Real Madrid have given up hope of signing David De Sea this summer, while Sam Johnstone is apparently on his way to Aston Villa on loan. But that’s just about it, and you know what that means, you can probably expect United to announce some ridiculous transfer today.
