When Manchester United paid £19million (BBC) on a full-back last summer, few expected him to be so effective in attack. But Diogo Dalot has been sensational in recent games.
The teenager transformed the match on Saturday, ensuring United ran out 3-2 winners against Southampton.  And, with Alexis Sanchez side-lined for some huge games, Dalot could get a prolonged run further forward.
He may only be 19, and a full-back by trade, but the Portuguese looks outstanding on the wing.
His crossing ability and confidence against opposing defenders is unerring.  And United’s strikers could benefit from Dalot’s creativity.

Sanchez has been woeful since arriving at Old Trafford and now he is out of action with ligament damage.
With the likes of Anthony Martial, Juan Mata and Jesse Lingard also side-lined, Dalot could be an unlikely saviour.
The 19-year-old has already got three assists this season and that could quickly increase in the weeks ahead. In contrast, Sanchez only has four assists in considerably more matches and his overall performances have fallen flat.
If Dalot excels in the Champions League, FA Cup and the Premier League, do not be surprised if he helps end Sanchez’s United career.
