Alexis Sanchez will wear the number seven shirt at Manchester United, it has been confirmed.
A leaked image showing Sanchez posing in a United kit on the Old Trafford pitch shows him wearing the shirt, and also shows that he will have his first name ‘Alexis’ on the back of the shirt.
This follows from the last player to wear the shirt, Memphis Depay, who wore his first name. Sanchez has normally worn his surname when playing for Arsenal but these leaked images show that the Chile international will instead follow his predecessor.
An announcement on the transfer is expected imminently after the player completed his medical this afternoon but it may be tomorrow morning before the club release a statement.
