Chris Smalling is urging Manchester United fans to be positive ahead of next season.
Speaking to the club’s official website ahead of next week’s fixture release, Smalling says he is looking forward to 2019/20.
He said: “I think my message would be to keep supporting us. It never goes unnoticed.
“When we’re winning or losing, when we’re doing warm-ups or even when I’m walking down the street, there are United fans talking to me. I think that’s something we all love.
“You can definitely bet on it that we’re going to be giving everything in pre-season and making sure that next season is one to remember for all the right reasons.”
It’s good to hear a bit of positivity at Old Trafford after a terrible end to the season.
Smalling is one of players the Manchester Evening News report United could look to move on this summer, despite being handed a contract extension last year.
The centre-back has come to represent, along with Phil Jones and Ashley Young, a lack of vision in the club’s recruitment department.
But until Smalling is told by the club he is being sold, he appears fully committed. United’s players need to be optimistic right now, and wipe last season away for a clean slate.
