Player Ratings: How Manchester United's Players Did Against Everton
How United’s stars rated in their win at Goodison Park.
De Gea – 6 – A rare quiet day for the Spaniard.
Lindelof – 7 – Does not provide the width of Valencia but did a good defensive job.
Jones – 7 – A decent job in difficult conditions, especially in the first half.
Rojo – 7 – Too many long range efforts which are wasteful more than they are ambitious but did his own job in defence quite well.
Shaw – 8 – Brilliant from the left back at a crucial time for him. It won’t be missed that this was his second shift in 50 hours or so and his second half performance was the kind of showing that will have had all of those who back him smiling.
Matic – 8 – As has been noted on these pages before – the good that Matic does is barely recognised because it is an unsung job. You have to remember the recent days when United’s midfield was the great abyss to appreciate it and it is the ultimate compliment to the Serb that those days are beginning to feel like a brief nightmare.
Pogba – 9 – Almost as good as his work at the Emirates at the start of December. This was a fantastic display, inspiring of his team-mates and dominant of the opposition.
Herrera – 6 – Was bordering on as bad as he’s been in the first half but did improve in the second to give hope that he may be turning a corner.
Mata – 7 – Should be a fixture in away games. United do have an issue on the right hand side but generally in away games Mata’s link up play compensates for it.
Lingard – 8 – The same goes for Jesse. His goal was fantastic but his performance deserved it.
Martial – 8 – Woke up in the second half and looked a real menace. Took his goal excellently.
Not enough time played to rate the substitutes.
