Player Ratings: Bristol City 2-1 Man Utd

Ratings from United’s Carabao Cup defeat in Bristol.
Romero – 5 – More or less faultless for the goals but had a couple of very nervy moments, dropping a ball in the first half and looking uncertain coming for crosses.
Darmian – 4 – Arguably his poorest outing from his time in England. If this is one left for United fans to remember him by, they won’t look back with fondness.
Lindelof – 5 – If both of the goals came from Darmian’s side, they exposed Lindelof and he didn’t cover himself with glory.
Rojo – 5 – In that school of players whose highs and lows can fluctuate wildly. Today was a low.
Blind – 5 – Anonymous. Perhaps that’s a good thing on a night like tonight.
Shaw – 6 – May be damaged by association though his own performance wasn’t so poor.
McTominay – 5 – A bad night for the youngster.
Pogba – 7 – Flashes of brilliance but that little bit of magic short – possibly due to the slight ring rust. United might still have expected better.
Rashford – 6 – Hit the post with a fine first half effort but faded as the game wore on. Had two long range free kicks, the second coming close after a deflection, but those efforts would have been better served sent into the box.
Ibrahimovic – 6 – The veteran clearly needs more time to regain sharpness, if it will come at all. Looked unusually anxious in the first half and not composed at all. Remedied that with a fine free kick but even if it’s too soon to write him off, the jury is definitely still out.
Martial – 5 – Definitely not his night.
Subs : Lukaku 5 – Forced one good save out of the Bristol keeper but did not look menacing
Mkhitaryan – 5 – Gave the performance of a player who is out of form and doesn’t feel trusted.
