Manchester United’s Brazilian stars led the way with a FA Cup win over Reading. Casemiro (2) and Fred were on target as the Red Devils won 3-1 at Old Trafford.
Here is a look at our player ratings from the match…
David de Gea – 6
Rooted to his line for Reading’s goal from their corner, as usual. Saved well in the first half when called upon.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka – 6.5
Saw plenty of possession but unable to show any real incision with it.
Harry Maguire – 7
Battled well and did his job in defence. Won the majority of his duels, however, like Lindelof, he will feel he should have done better for Reading’s goal.
Victor Lindelof – 7
Defended well, bringing the ball out of defence and clearing his lines. Completed more passes than any player on the pitch.
Tyrell Malacia – 6.5
Gave away a big chance with casual play inside his own box. Good in possession, booked for a tactical foul in the second half.
Casemiro – 8.5
Opened the scoring, finishing with the composure of a striker, Casemiro is a player who can do everything. He proved this minutes later by curling in an effort from outside the area. A true matchwinner.

Christian Eriksen – 7
Helped United keep possession well and worked hard, before being clattered by Andy Carroll, who was later sent off. Substituted early in the second half.
Bruno Fernandes – 7
Clever movement as he tried to break Reading down. Provided the assist for United’s third goal with an accurate low cross.
Antony – 8
First assist in a Manchester United shirt with an excellent pass for Casemiro. Was the most likely player to score in the first half. Created more chances than any player on the pitch.
Marcus Rashford – 7
Saw a first half goal harshly ruled out by VAR. Confident and dangerous in possession. Substituted midway through the half and so unable to claim his record of 10 Old Trafford goals in a row.
Wout Weghorst – 7
Superb header to set Rashford off, he had just strayed marginally offside. Led the line well and had an effort on target.
Substitutes:
Fred – 8
Ended up with an assist for Casemiro’s second goal, then scored himself with a superb near-post flick. Alert defensively too.
Alejandro Garnacho – 7.5
An instant danger from the moment he came on, with shots on target and setting up a chance for Antony.
Facundo Pellistri – 6
Got into good positions and worked hard, but found it tricky to get behind a defence playing so deep.
Anthony Elanga – 6
Kept it simple, but didn’t do enough to make a convincing case that he should stay amid loan interest.
Kobbie Mainoo – 6.5
Only 17-years-old, another valuable run out at Old Trafford for the highly-rated midfielder. He will be better off for this experience.
