Players to buy and sell

Regarding Man United’s transfer business… I think we need to know which players we want and get them asap. Many other clubs are also interested in the same players… so the earlier the business the better.

Players I would let leave or transfer list: De Gea, Pogba, Lingard, Sanchez, Mata, Matic, Rojo, Jones…. Total minimum fee of +/- 250 million.

Purchase..Sancho, Zaniolo, Bailey, Adama Traore, purchase two out of the four.

Ndidi….Matic replacement. Van de beek, Mata replacement, Havertz…Pogba replacement, Neves, Dembele, striker and Soyuncu from Leicester.

Don’t forget your academy players, and Dean Henderson can’t wait another three years to be number one.. he’s going to lose patience.

Jesse, Pereira, Jones must go, Smalling, Rojo may be Lindelof not top class centre backs.

Time to make way for better, as I am on here I would sell Pogba for someone who wants to play for United.

Midfield options

I think most of us were gutted Herrera left with the club failing to offer him improved terms, particularly allowing his contract to run down.

With the injuries to McTominay and Pogba, he would surely have been worth an extra 5 points, as there’s an argument he’d still make the strongest team.

As things stand, we now have 3 holding midfielders in McTominay, Matic and Fred and 3 attacking in Bruno, Pogba & Mata, with Lingard & Pereira unable to claim they weren’t given the opportunity.

Matic, Mata and possibly Pogba will need replacing, but Garner, Levitt, Gomes & Mejbri aren’t able to step up yet without the standard dropping, particularly in depth, as we can’t assume there won’t be injuries to the preferred players.

It’ll be interesting to see who the club REALLY ARE interested in and whether we’ll yet get an anthemic Pogba, but without doubt, we need another style option above the counter-attack, if the team are to progress.

One liners

I love Marcus Rashford, he always shows good character. May he play long at Old Trafford and stay fit. Nurudeen Olagunju

Rashford is the type of player everybody wants, but Manchester United should add one more central forward to enable Rashford to play on his favourite position. Timloh Labar

Editor’s view

We are now just one day away from United’s Premier League restarting and we saw a glimpse of what the games will look like last night.

It is good to see Arsenal are the same side they have been all season, and I think we can safely discount them from the list of challengers from the top four.

It was also good to see Sheffield United drop points, and now we are in the driving seat ahead of our match with them on Tuesday at Old Trafford.

The real problem is Chelsea, and we need them to slip up. We can help there by beating Spurs on Friday night and putting them under pressure.

It is frustrating as it feels Spurs have a second chance here, with Harry Kane and Son back from injury. What had looked like an easy win before the break, will now be an even game.

Even so, you can’t bet against Marcus Rashford at the moment and we are fortunate to have him back. I expect him to make the difference and lead United to victory.

Look out for our comprehensive match coverage after Friday’s game and into Saturday. We will have plenty of articles on site to read.
