Antonio Valencia returns to action for Ecuador
Antonio Valencia made his return to action for Ecuador last night against USA.
Valencia has not played for Manchester United since the 2-0 away win over Newcastle on January 2
For Ecuador Valencia was back to his roots, playing as a winger as part of a front three.
He was not able to provide a cutting edge, with USA winning 1-0.
Valencia did receive praise from international manager Hernan Gomez, known as El Bolillo.
“(Antonio) Valencia was our different player. He changed the rhythm of the match after the goal. More than that, he’s a leader and the players respond to him.”

Valencia has not been part of United’s plans recently, and was pictured training at home in Ecuador.
United chose not to activate an automatic contract renewal option in his contract, with BBC Sport reporting he is expected to leave the club this summer.
Officially United’s captain, Valencia’s absence has seen Ashley Young and Paul Pogba step in and wear the armband.
This was some much needed game time for the 33-year-old, but it remains to be seen if he will play for United again before the end of the season.
Here is a look at how some fans reacted to his performance…
Pulisic literally just ran circles around Antonio Valencia

Jose Antonio Valencia can still put in one of those great through balls at any moment. Love watching him play for Man U when he does, and Ecuador too. #USAvECU
