Five clubs Dean Henderson could move to this summer

Manchester United are set to see numerous players leave the club this summer, and Dean Henderson could be one of the first out of the door in the transfer window.

According to the Mirror, the England international is ready to leave United at all costs this summer, with the Daily Star further reporting that Henderson will be available at £40m, with numerous clubs chasing the 25-year-old.

Once hailed as the future number one keeper for United and a potential superstar for the Three Lions, Henderson has seen his career come to a screeching halt since returning from Sheffield United in 2020. But this summer could be the period where the talented shot-stopper finally departs Manchester.

Indeed, the goalkeeper is an ideal starting keeper for many top clubs both in the Premier League and around Europe, and here are five teams who could be tempted. Here is a look at five clubs Dean Henderson could move to this summer.

Your Club's SURPRISE Star This Season

As per the Daily Star report, Tottenham are one of the sides interested in taking Henderson off United’s hands, with Antonio Conte’s side looking for a long-term replacement for club captain Hugo Lloris, who turns 36 at the end of this year.

With European football guaranteed for next season and Lloris somewhat losing his touch this campaign with some shaky performances, Henderson could become Tottenham’s new number one this year should the north London club move to sign Henderson in the summer.

Another of the clubs Dean Henderson could move to is Lazio, with the Serie A side set to lose long-term shot-stopper Thomas Strakosha at the end of his contract this summer, with Pepe Reina the Italian’s only other senior player in the position.

With Maurizio Sarri set to spend big this summer according to reports, Henderson could follow the path some English players have taken in recent windows and move to Italy to become Lazio’s new starting keeper, especially if the Roman club qualifies for Europe.

Newcastle United

If reports are to be believed, Newcastle United are the side with the most interest in Henderson, with the Premier League club eager to sign a stand-out starting goalkeeper despite their impressive options in the position.

Although Martin Dubravka has impressed this season, Henderson would be a significant upgrade in the position, as well as a younger option and a homegrown talent that will work well with Newcastle’s big summer plans this year under Eddie Howe.

Napoli

Another Italian giant who Dean Henderson could move to is Napoli, with former Arsenal star David Ospina the club’s current number one and backup shot-stopper Alex Meret failing to impress this season.

Just like Lazio, Napoli are ready to spend this summer, and Henderson would be an ideal option to take over the starting spot between the sticks at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium, even when considering the £40m price tag United are looking for.

West Ham

Like Newcastle and Tottenham, West Ham are another side who are taking action in looking for a long-term keeper to take over the position for the future, with Lukasz Fabianski one of the oldest regulars in the Premier League this season.

And according to reports, the Hammers are indeed interested in Henderson. Moreover, with the Irons reaching unprecedented heights under former United boss David Moyes, Henderson could be tempted to move to the east London side if they can continue this level of success.

Whether United are willing to let him leave for a competitor, like with Tottenham, is another matter.
