He follows in the footsteps of his dad Hasny Aljofree, who began his career in Manchester United’s academy in the mid-90s.

While he never cracked United’s first team, he went onto play 250 professional games at professional level in the Football League, including more than 100 for Plymouth Argyle.

Sonny Aljofree, 18, made three appearances as a substitute during Manchester United’s FA Youth Cup victory last season.

He was one of three players selected for a loan deal to Altrincham in January along with Maxi Oyedele and Joe Hugill, although he did not make an appearance.

United still have high hopes for the teenager’s development, as seen by his loan deal, and Aljofree will hope to establish himself as a regular starter at under-21 level next season.
