Manchester United invite Bosnian youngster Tarik Karic to club on trial

Manchester United have extended an invitation for Bosnian youngster Tarik Karic to join the club on trial.

Karic is in the academy at FK Željezničar, a Sarajevo based team who finished in sixth place in Bosnia and Herzegovia’s top flight last season.

The 16-year-old goalkeeper’s trial invite for September has been approved by FK Željezničar, the club announced via Facebook.

The club’s message read, “The head of Manchester United’s scouting service, David Harrison, sent an invitation to FK Željezničar and talented goalkeeper Tarik Karić to stay and train with Manchester United’s peers from September 11 to 18. FK Željezničar proudly issued permission to Karić to go to Old Trafford.”

Karic can attend United on trial, although the club are not permitted to sign him before he turns 18, per regulations which were introduced due to Brexit.

This hasn’t stopped United bringing young European talents over to check out the Carrington facilities, with a view to a future deal.

Earlier this year United brought over Polish midfield talent Karol Borys, along with Sweden youth international Lucas Bergvall.

United’s academy is one of the best in Europe. Two years ago United did swoop for Czech goalkeeper Radek Vitek, 16, prior to the Brexit regulations, and he has just gone on to win the FA Youth Cup with the young Red Devils.
