Brazilian midfielder Fred has arrived at Manchester United’s AON Training Complex in Carrington ahead of his transfer to the Premier League club.
Fred, who has been targeted by Manchester City, is set to become United’s first signing of the summer as Jose Mourinho looks to bolster his midfield numbers, which will be depleted by the retirement of Michael Carrick and the exit of Marouane Fellaini.
Fred has played for Ukranian side Shakhtar Donetsk since 2013 and has scored 14 times in 156 sides for the club. He has been capped 8 times for the Brazilian national side and is part of their World Cup squad for this summer’s tournament in Russia.
The transfer is likely to be confirmed by United early this week and the fee is rumoured to be around £50m.
