Metro Wrongly Report That Manchester United Have Made £96m Bid For Midfielder

in News by

Manchester United have not made a £96m offer for Lazio midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, despite a report from Metro yesterday saying they have.

United have been tipped to make this summer a record for spending as they seek to strengthen their squad and it is no secret that Jose Mourinho intends to bolster his midfield after the retirement of Michael Carrick and the likely exit of Marouane Fellaini.

And Milinkovic-Savic is a name that has been widely tipped to make his way to Manchester. United have tracked the Lazio star – however, the Metro’s report is completely false. There has been no bid made from United for the player and developments over the last week indicate that the move is unlikely to happen.

The first reason is Lazio’s astronomical asking price. The only remotely truthful reference in the Metro’s report is that the Italian club want a fee close to £100m. United were interested in the player as a foil for Paul Pogba but the price places him firmly in the ‘potential replacement’ list for the French midfielder, though it does seem unlikely that United will agree to a sale for Pogba.

Pogba is unlikely to push for a move unless an opening comes up at Real Madrid. Madrid, however, are attempting to raise funds to sign Neymar, while they will be watching the Kylian Mbappe situation closely. It is unlikely they will make two major signings of around £100m.

United are in talks to sign Brazilian midfielder Fred while they will have observed the fallout with Gareth Bale at Madrid with interest as the probable forerunners if the Welshman decides to leave Spain.

  1. SIMPLE SEVEN (and a bit) POINT PLAN.

Regardless of FRED or SANDRO pursuits,

    we should

1• forget Ronaldo, Bale, Lewandowski, Costa & Kroos for the figures bring quoted

    ABSOLUTELY NOT CONSIDERING
    Hart
(are you shitting me – shall we go for Lois Karius as well?)

    or Mandzukic
(if we need another big fella up top, lets have a bit of personality & sparkle – we are Manchester United – get BALOTETTI).

    2• Prioritise MILINKOVIC-SAVIC (8) & VARANE (7.5).

3• Get Kieran McKenna to prioritise Martial, Rashford & Sanchez to earn their money by playing across WHOLE TOP LINE properly or get WILLIAN (7.5).

4• If sponsors want to get involved, get NEYMAR (8), GRIEZMANN (7.5) or MBAPPE (7).

5• Promote more academy players to squad and beast them in training (they’ll have to earn playing time).

    • Demitri MITCHELL/ Cameron BORTHWICK-JACKSON (Ashley Young / Daley Blind)

    • Axel TUANZEBE (Phil Jones / Chris SMALLING / Marcos ROJO)

    • Timothy FOSU-MENSAH (Antonio Valencia / Matteo Darmian)

    • Scott MCTOMINAY / Timothy FOSU-MENSAH(Michael Carrick / Ander Herrera / Nemanja Matic / Marouane Fellaini)

    • Angel GOMES / Tahith CHONG / Callum GRIBBIN (Juan Mata / Paul Pogba)

    • James WILSON / Mason GREENWOOD (Alexis Sanchez / Romelu Lukaku)

They should all be understudies to and looking to replace/push out senior bracketed players.

6a• We should never have sold Joe Riley !!!!

6b• Nor should we sell Andreas Pereira or Anthony Martial or Luke ‘fatboy’ Shaw (he should be beasted too and not let anywhere near a football until he’s lost a stone).

    7• In a better world,
    A) Change all their contracts to results & performance-related,
    B) Let the fans own the club and
    C) Introduce standing sections for all but away support, disabled & Family (anyone with kids under 13).

    GET ME ON THE BOARD.

    Godisred.
