Manchester United are set to sign Swedish youngster Lucas Gomes, according to the sporting director of the player’s current club.
Gomes was recently on trial in Manchester, from his parent club Malmo, and director Mikael Brandrup told Skanesport that he expects the 14-year-old will make the move to England permanent.
‘Lucas was in Manchester for week 44 and unfortunately I do not think we’ll keep him,’ Brandup said. ‘He moved here from Karlskrona in the autumn of 2016 to go to our sports school and, of course, he might have to wait until he left the school before moving back. But I understand he’s impressed with United.’
