Former Manchester United youth player Phil Mulryne has been ordained a priest, report BBC News.
He was ordained a deacon last October, a journey which began in 2009 after he officially retired from professional football.
Mulryne was a promising young midfielder, though his highlight at the club came in the pre-season of the 1998/99 season when he scored a hat-trick at Birmingham City.
He was most known as a player for his career at Norwich City and his 27 caps for Northern Ireland. Prior to being ordained a deacon, Mulryne had been declared bankrupt in September 2016.
